A fatal accident closed road I/4 from Strakonice to Kbelnice. Two cars collided near Rovná. One person in a car and two people in a van were injured in the collision.

“A car collided with a van near Rovná, people were also injured and a helicopter had to be dispatched to the scene,” police spokeswoman Lenka Krausová said. The traffic accident occurred at 3:35 p.m. and traffic complications are expected on the I/4 cyanobacteria until approximately 8:30 p.m. Traffic is controlled by the police.

The medical operations center sent three medical teams from Strakonic and a helicopter to the site. “One of the men traveling in the van suffered a severe injury to his lower leg, and multiple injuries were also suspected,” Zuzana Fajtlová, spokeswoman for the ZZS JčK, added details. “The rescuers placed the man in a vacuum mattress, punctured the venous access for the administration of analgosedation and infusion solutions and performed the necessary measures to stop the bleeding. After his condition stabilized, he was airlifted to a hospital in České Budějovice.” The second of the men was taken to a hospital in Strakonice for examination. “There was a person traveling in the car who died before the rescuers arrived and it was impossible to help her,” she concluded.
