Although the implementation team has not yet commented on the goalkeeper’s role, it can be estimated from the distribution of matches that the 27-year-old goalkeeper of Arizona will start the domestic championship in the position of three on Friday. On Saturday, 32-year-old Petr Mrázek from Chicago caught a successful game against Sweden, which the Czechs lost 0:2, making ten saves and the second goal falling into an open goal.

Twenty-three-year-old Lukáš Dostál from Anaheim got a chance already on Thursday, when he conceded three times in a 1:4 defeat. And he will be in goal in today’s match with Switzerland, which starts at 4:00 p.m. in Brno.

Expected line-up of the Czech Republic:
Dostál (Vejmelka) – Mašín, Rutta, Krejčík, D. Špaček, Ščotka, Kundrátek, Hájek, Košťálek – Červenka, M. Špaček, Kubalík – Palát, Tomášek, O. Kaše – Voženílek, Sedlák, Flek – Lenc, R. Zohorna , J. Crow

All the finalists of the extra league will also go to the event. Defenders Tomáš Kundrátek from Třinec and Libor Hájek from Pardubice and Jan Košťálek started already on Saturday, Dynamo striker Lukáš Sedlák and Daniel Voženílek from Třinec will make their first appearance at the Brno tournament.

In contrast to the match against Sweden, defenders Gudas, Zábranský, Kempný and Ticháček, as well as forwards Chlapík, Kousal, M. Kovařčík, Stránský, Kondelík and Beránek, do not appear in the lineup in addition to Mrázek. Some players who only played on Thursday will remain in the stands, namely O. Kovařčík and, surprisingly, New Jersey forward Tomáš Nosek. On the other hand, the other reinforcements from overseas will be playing this time, i.e. running backs Rutta with D. Špaček and Kubalík with R. Zohorna.

There are still 35 hockey players in the squad of the Czech national team, although coach Radim Rulík announced that he would make several cuts after Saturday’s game. The coach will announce the nomination for the World Cup at a press conference at approximately 21:00. 25 hockey players can participate in the championship on home ice, which will start for the Czech Republic on Friday, May 10, with an evening duel against the Finns.
