A serious accident occurred in Kostelní Lhota in Nymburk on Sunday afternoon. The driver drove his car onto the sidewalk, where he hit four people. Information about the nature of the injuries is not yet known, but two rescue helicopters flew to the scene.
The accident happened late in the afternoon between six thirty and six o’clock. A passenger car was driving from Sadská to Poděbrady, while in Kostelní Lhota, according to the police, for as yet unknown reasons, it went onto the sidewalk, where it hit four pedestrians. The ride ended with a crash into a family home.
The rescue service confirmed that there are more injured at the scene. In addition to two helicopters, three ambulances and one medical vehicle were involved.
Last year, the Czech Statistical Office (ČSÚ) registered 16,282 traffic accidents in the Central Bohemian Region. There were more than a thousand more than the previous year.
