Together with Mack, they founded the first right-wing party after the revolution. Influential men of the ODS. Where are they today?

While some of the previous politicians had a problem with Václav Klaus, For a change, Vlastimil Tlustý had disputes with the new head of the ODS and Prime Minister Mirek Topolánek. He sharply criticized his government’s policies until he finally left the ODS completely in 2009. And three years before that, he held the position of Minister of Finance in Topolánek’s cabinet. Moreover, he was in the right-wing party from its beginning, despite the fact that even before the revolution he was a member of the Communist Party of the Czech Republic for several years.

But the fat man has more tricks up his sleeve. He allegedly worked directly with the head of the Czech underworld – František Mrázek. Tlusty was supposed to act as an informant for him through another man and subsequently receive two to three million crowns as a reward. But the politician denied accepting any money. But Tlustý also highlighted himself by admitting that the party wanted to give football player Milan Baroš 10 million crowns for supporting it on election posters. But he didn’t get the money in the end, because Tlustý ended up in the cabinet.

Another stain on his reputation was the case with the fake compromising photos in which he was captured with an extra. Tlustý let himself be photographed in a hot tub with a strange woman and then pushed the pictures to the political backstage, to prove that his fellow party members are looking for compromising materials on him. He was threatened with expulsion from the party for this, but his local association in Rakovník supported him.

Today, Vlastimil Tlustý says of the ODS that they are criminals, and since last year he has been an advisor to both the Pledge Movement and Trikolora.
