Every resident and user of the so-called mom hotel knows how to abuse their parents in adulthood. The fact that housing is expensive and he/she earns little is not an argument. Everyone started somehow and didn’t have everything they wanted right away. We, the parents, also started somewhere in a rented or shared apartment and had to take care of finding our own housing, gradually living with a partner and then with our family. It was out of the question to make excuses about unavailability, impossibility, cost, etc. We simply finished school and started living on our own. And it was not at all possible that we would not agree on some kind of contribution to our parents, if we were still living with our parents for a short time, indeed only for a short time and temporarily.

Today, of course, there are young people who stand on their own two feet and live their own lives, and especially for themselves. They live their separate lives. Not much is written about them, because it is completely normal.

What is definitely not normal? This is an adult child who lives with his parents and allows himself to be served, and often does not even contribute anything to the running of the household. But he just continues to use the services, he consumes as much as he likes, but he does not buy. Or just sporadically. He uses the bathroom and the washing machine, but does not complete the necessary drug store. He doesn’t even want to hear about paying for water and electricity. He’s home after all, so what? And unfortunately, it is often parents who do not want to see that their child is already an adult and has to live an independent life. For your own money, at your own expense. He won’t have everything and all the comforts right away. So what! Let him get used to the fact that something is worth something in life. Single life is not free.

Expensive mortgages and expensive subleases?

Yes, it is expensive. Really very expensive these days. But dear adult children, in life you can’t just choose advantages and endlessly make excuses why it doesn’t work. Why can’t you just limit yourself in something? You will have your own housing, maybe you will start renting, but there will not be enough for the holidays. You start a job after school, you have some starting salary to buy food and pay rent. And you need to save even from a small salary. There won’t be much left for fun and vacations, or maybe nothing at all. Well, there’s nothing you can do about it. You will save money and drive later. Each of us started out and knows this situation very well.

Do you not contribute to the running of the household to your parents and let yourself be served?

And isn’t that a little silly to you? Do you think this is normal?

It’s not like that. Your parents raised you, it cost them a lot of effort. They supported you in your studies and often didn’t buy anything for themselves just so they could give to you. You have now completed your studies and it is time to relieve your parents of expenses. It’s time to start living your independent life. And don’t make excuses that it can’t be done. You just don’t want to. And how do parents always want to? So not really.

Mom hotel is not a solution for you either. Try to live your life even if you are insured since birth. Try to prove to yourself that you can do it yourself without outside support. I think your parents will also appreciate it very much.
