On Monday morning, an accident occurred at a level crossing near the main train station in Turnov, a train collided with a passing van. The driver of the vehicle sustained minor injuries. “We also called off the helicopter and the injured person was transported by the ground crew to the surgical ambulance in Turnovo,” said regional rescue service spokesman Michael Georgiev. According to him, nothing happened to the passengers on the train.
Traffic on the track in the direction of Hradec Králové is stopped. Replacement buses are running in the section between Turnov and Hruba Skála, they said on the Czech Railways website. The expected restoration of traffic is at half past two in the afternoon. The police are investigating the cause of the collision between the train and the car. “We are currently investigating the circumstances of the accident on the spot,” added regional police spokeswoman Dagmar Sochorová.
