Bombs supplied by the US to Israel were used to kill civilians, Biden said

According to US President Joe Biden, Israel used US-supplied bombs in attacks that killed Palestinian civilians in the Gaza Strip. Biden said this in an interview with CNN. In recent days, according to the media, the US administration has suspended the delivery of bombs, roughly half of which are powerful bombs weighing around one ton. According to Biden, the US will not supply Israel with more bombs or artillery ammunition, which Israel has used in the Gaza Strip in recent months, if his government decides to expand the invasion to the densely populated city of Rafah in the south of the area, where Israel says the last major groups of Hamas are hiding. In that case, according to Biden, the US would only supply defensive ammunition, for example to Israel’s Iron Dome air defense system.

The most powerful CO2 capture and storage facility to date has opened in Iceland. The Swiss company Climeworks is behind it and its clients who buy climate indulgences from it include Goldman Sachs, Microsoft and Shopify, the server writes Verge. The project is called Mammoth and works on the principle that it sucks in air, separates CO2 from it using a filter and then stores it underground.

EU leaders have agreed that frozen Russian assets will be used to help Ukraine

Representatives of the member states of the European Union agreed in Brussels that they will use the proceeds from Russian assets frozen in Europe to buy weapons for Ukraine and to reconstruct this country, which has been resisting Russian military aggression for more than two years. The Belgian Presidency informed about it. The proposal that 90 percent of the proceeds be used to buy weapons for Ukraine through the so-called European Peace Facility was presented by the European Commission in March. The remaining ten percent should be transferred to the EU budget and used for the reconstruction of Ukraine. The total financial contribution to Ukraine from frozen Russian assets could be around 4.5 billion euros (more than 112 billion crowns) this year.

The president promoted the head of the secret service, Zeman refused

President Petr Pavel promoted Michal Koudelka, director of the Security Information Service (BIS), from the rank of brigadier general to major general at the Prague Castle after a year at the suggestion of the government. Director of the General Inspection of the Security Forces (GIBS) Vít Hendrych became a brigadier general. On the occasion of Victory Day, the head of state promoted another 11 soldiers, policemen and firefighters. A few years ago, the heroes and heroines of the Marvel comic universe were a clear magnet for fans and moviegoers. But after the Avengers series ended with the defeat of Thanos, their potential seemed to have been exhausted, and since 2019, the success of the films and related content has gone downhill. Even on the Disney+ platform, they are not as attractive as the Hollywood studio imagined. His old boss, Bob Iger, has now admitted that they will have to slow down, as they once did with Star Wars. “We will release a maximum of two series a year and two, maybe three, but not four movies as we planned,” stated
