The police charged a man with murder in Pilsen. The victim died in hospital today

The police said in a press release that on Tuesday they received a report of an unconscious woman on one of the benches in Křižík Gardens. A 44-year-old woman had stab wounds and was taken to hospital in a serious condition, where she succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday.

“The police closed the place and its surroundings immediately after the notification and carried out an investigation. The following day, the police also dealt with a whole range of procedural actions and carried out a background check at the place and around this event, which was attended by a number of policemen, including divers from the emergency unit, policemen from special order unit, criminalists of the Plzeň Municipal Police Directorate, a dog handler and police officers from the Plzeň – center police department,” said police spokeswoman Iva Vršecká.

The case was taken up by regional crime investigators, who identified a suspect. Specifically, it was a thirty-seven-year-old man who was detained on Tuesday evening. “On the basis of the established facts and the implementation of procedural actions, the chief commissioner of the general crime department of the criminal police services and the investigation started the criminal prosecution of this man as accused of a particularly serious crime of murder and at the same time ordered a forensic autopsy on the deceased,” the spokeswoman added.

The High Commissioner will file an initiative to file a motion to take the accused into custody. According to Vršecká, both the victim and the accused moved in a community of homeless people. The motive of the crime is supposed to be settling their partnership disagreements.
