In recent years, there has been an increased interest in cheaper products on the electric motor market, but this can be reflected in compromises with quality. “For example, our cheapest models, intended for three-year-old children, are sold for around 30,000 crowns. However, Chinese companies offer similar products at almost half the price. This is reflected in the lower quality, which customers can recognize already after the first drive,” explains Michal Kubánek from the Kuberg company in the next episode of the Green Spin program.

The new investor brought an impulse to Kuberg. “Since then, the restart of the company has continued in several phases. Now our production is going well. And we are starting to start the second phase – sales and marketing. We are gradually delivering motorcycles to customers,” says the Cuban.

The company prides itself not only on the high quality of its products, but also on their low failure rate. “The motorcycles we put on the market 10 years ago are still running and the customer has not invested anything in them. With Chinese manufacturers, the price is as affordable as possible, but the same amount that customers put into the machine is then spent on spare parts.” warns the manufacturer.

Americans are the main target

In the past, the Kuberg company experienced high demand, often not even having time to deliver. This year’s production ceiling has been set at 1,400 units. “Most of them are exported, only 10% of the production remains in the Czech Republic,” adds Kubánek. America, the EU and Ecuador are among the largest customers.

Motorcycle trends don’t change. “It’s about ever-increasing performances. Today, the most powerful machines surpass gasoline motorcycles,” explains the manufacturer.

Although cheap, but with a malfunction

Chinese manufacturers represent great competition for the entire Czech market. Their strategy consists in cheap products. However, the low price is associated with poorer quality and weaker performance. But this did not deter the secondary market. “It is a long-term trend and Chinese competition will increase. We want to be the best. We know from companies that sold Chinese products that they are not very satisfied with them, for several reasons. Very often it happens that the distributors have no margin on the bikes and thus cannot provide additional services to the customers.” explains what the differences are.

Rough biker condemns electro?

The company started with the production of children’s motorbikes, because children had no prejudices. “A biker wouldn’t fit you on an electric motorcycle in 2012,” Cuban recalls. Customers are usually parents who buy motorcycles for their children. “The biggest interest in children’s motorbikes is the smallest model, which is for children aged 3 years, and then the models for 5-6 years old,” explains Kubánek, saying that children learn to use electric motors and do not want to change them.

“We’ve been selling very well with the adult Kuberg Ranger models, which are kind of a hybrid between a motorcycle and a scooter, which is a lot of fun,” describes his favorite, saying that the price of the most expensive electric motor is around 200,000 crowns.

Engines and key components from the Czech Republic

If the bike breaks down, the repair is usually very easy. There are really few possible faults. “In our case, it is about the release of four screws. The most problematic part can be the detection of the problem itself, because we have bikes all over the world. The part is sent to the customer or is available in their market,” adds Kubánek.

“We make our own engines and key things. Only plastic components and, for example, tires are purchased from China,” Kubánek concludes.
