The children received prizes for artistic and literary works on the topic of Safe future transport

Police officers from the Vysočina regional police headquarters awarded the best works of children who participated in an art and literary competition announced as part of the Markétina traffic education project. This year, they worked on the topic Safe transport of the future.

The competition took place in four categories. “In the first category of the art competition there were kindergarten students, the second category of the art competition belonged to first grade elementary school students
and the corresponding grade of grammar schools, the third category of the art competition was attended by children attending the second grade of elementary schools and the corresponding grade of grammar schools, and the last literary category was intended for all students of elementary schools and the corresponding grades of grammar schools. Thirteen schools from all over Vysočina participated in the competition. The children sent a total of 172 beautiful drawings, art works and literary works, from which it was very difficult to choose the best ones. Police officers from the press and prevention department carefully selected the three most successful works from each category. The works will then advance to the national round, which will take place in mid-June in Prague,” said police spokesman Lukáš Vondra.

The best art work in the category of kindergarten students was created by a kindergarten student from Okříšek. He took first place in the art competition in the category of primary school pupils
pupil of Okříška Elementary School. In the third category of the art competition for students of the second grade of primary schools, the first place was taken by a student of the Biskupský gymnasium in Žďár nad Sázavou. In the fourth category of the literary competition, a student of the TGM Elementary School from Bystřice nad Pernštejnem took first place. The most successful schools, whose pupils occupied the most winning positions, became Lavičky Elementary School and TGM Bystřice nad Pernštejnem Elementary School, which occupied three winning positions across categories.
