The number of victims of Friday’s terrorist attack in Krasnogorsk on the outskirts of Moscow has risen to 143. Referring to the updated list of victims published by the Russian Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Meduza portal reported this. Earlier, the ministry said it had managed to identify 120 dead. Over 360 people were injured during the attack, TASS reported today.

During Wednesday, the Russian authorities already increased the balance from the previous 139 to 140 dead. In this context, the Minister of Health Michail Muraško informed about the death of another of the injured. He also said four people remain in critical condition and 19 others are in serious condition. According to him, there are still a total of eight dozen wounded in hospitals, including six children.

Search for victims in the ruins of the Crocus City Hall concert hall in Krasnogorsk, firefighters and rescuers ended on Tuesday.

The attack was claimed by the Afghan branch of the terrorist organization Islamic State, which, according to the media, recruits among migrants from post-Soviet Central Asia. Russian authorities have detained 11 people, including four suspected perpetrators, over the attack. So far, eight suspects have appeared before the court due to the imposition of custody. Seven of them are from Tajikistan, the eighth, who rented an apartment to the alleged attackers, is originally from Kyrgyzstan.

Russian officials, led by President Vladimir Putin, are trying to link the attack to Ukraine, which has denied any involvement, and the West, which warned Moscow of extremist plans days before the event. This American warning was publicly dismissed by Putin as an attempt at intimidation and blackmail.
