Execution – Richter defended herself against the MP from ANO

--

In Václav Moravec asked a question in the second part of his Questions, how to get rid of foreclosures. Pirate Olga Richterová and ex-minister of justice and the ANO movement Taťána Malá answered.

About 640,000 people in the Czech Republic are affected by foreclosure. Some people get into debt and when they lose their jobs, they have nothing to pay off the debt. They often postpone the problem by taking out non-bank loans and using them to pay off their debts to the banks. But that’s an economic death spiral that only gives people the possibility of personal bankruptcy. But when to approach him? Won’t the creditors be beaten too much?

Mala revealed that the views of the ANO movement are converging with the ODS, but added in one breath that the coalition will probably pull together in the end and damage the positions of the creditors. “Help must be targeted and, above all, we must help those who want to be helped. And we must first of all aim to ensure that people do not get into those problems. And we also have to ensure that the borrower fulfills his obligations to the creditors, because the creditors often include so-called involuntary creditors, such as associations of owners of housing units,” pointed out Malá, adding that if one of the owners does not pay, the other owners of apartments on they pay him extra.

Richterová countered that the biggest problem is with debtors who have three or more foreclosures, who have no real chance of escaping the carousel of foreclosures. And the government wants to help them.

“The key is nutritious. When it comes to children, there is a provision to pay all alimony owed, and it is better for the debtors’ families to be insolvent so that the money goes to the children,” emphasized Richterová.

Mala countered that the government didn’t get the data and doesn’t know how to set it up so that the rules are fair to both lenders and borrowers who repay honestly. According to Malá, there is a risk that those who pay honestly may be beaten.

“When we have a debtor with a net income of 20,000 and two maintenance obligations, nothing can be confiscated from him and that’s a problem,” Malá was angry.

“That’s not true,” Richter countered immediately.

But Malá could not be stopped and pointed out that, especially in Prague, debtors do not pay their debts and, according to her, it is often the elderly, which the coalition does not work with.

However, Richter defended herself by saying that even seniors have room to repay at least part of the debt, in the amount of 2,900 crowns per month.

The ladies then argued about how it will be with the payment of debts, for example for persons receiving a disability pension, and how long will debt relief take after that? Will it be 3 years or more?

Richter assured that in the case of intentional crimes, the obligation to repay the entire amount owed will be maintained.

Mala offered another example.

“You say it’s okay if someone borrows a million crowns and then pays the creditors 6,000?” asked the ANO MP.

“You’re telling me something I didn’t say,” countered Richter.

And if Moravec hadn’t stopped the politicians’ argument, they would probably have been arguing for a long time.
