Donald Trump’s views conforming to the opinion of ordinary Americans, the blocking of aid to Ukraine due to the intrigues of his loyalists, the necessity of humiliatingly begging Europe for the approval of aid, all this leads to the conclusion that the USA can no longer be relied on.

Russia, disguised as the Soviet Union, invaded Afghanistan in distant Central Asia in 1979. Nevertheless, US President Jimmy Carter called this invasion “the greatest foreign policy crisis the United States has faced since World War II.” He called for a boycott of the upcoming Moscow Olympics, embargoed grain exports to the Soviets, increased arms spending, renewed military support for Pakistan, and authorized the CIA to take action against the Soviet military.

43 years later, immediately after the start of Russia’s attack against Ukraine, a country located in Europe, adjacent to the members of the North Atlantic Alliance, the current US President Joe Biden immediately assured the aggressor that the Americans and other NATO countries would not fight for it. He did so despite the security guarantees that the United States, Great Britain and France provided to Ukraine in 1994 in the form of the Budapest Memorandum. And how did Ukrainians feel today when they watched the news that the United States and Great Britain helped defend Israel from Iranian drones and missiles on the night of April 13-14? A country that has modern air defense and nuclear weapons, which Ukraine gave up in exchange for empty promises. The United States and NATO as a whole, through the mouth of its Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg, at the same time stupidly violated the principle of “do not guarantee to the enemy what we will not do” and gave Russia absolutely free space to murder. French President Emmanuel Macron is seeking a return to strategic ambiguity and has threatened to send troops to Ukraine. But the situation repeated itself. Instead of the other NATO members at least being silent, they once again rushed to assure Russia that they would not send their troops to Ukraine. The last time this unnecessary rhetorical figure of cowards and a diplomatic faux pas was presented by Tomáš Pojar, adviser to the Czech Prime Minister on national security issues. He did not gain any points for the government at home, capitulators from ANO will certainly not become ODS voters, he only once again assured the Russian embassy, and thus the Kremlin, that the mood in Europe is against direct military aid to Ukraine. He missed the chance to keep quiet about this.

The situation resembles the world before Ronald Reagan took office as the US president. Backing down to Russia, inconsistent sanctions, the cry of the Kremlin-paid klaks, this time not of the peace movement, but of disinformation, the reluctance to go into full conflict with the aim of winning.

The law, under which Ukraine received aid from the United States until September 30, 2023, had ideological roots in the World War II Lend-Lease Act. Both were based on the idea of supporting countries important to the defense of the United States. The draft of the first “Ukrainian law” passed unanimously in the Senate in early 2022 and by a vote of 417:10 in the House of Representatives. What objectively changed that suddenly the defense of Ukraine was not in the interest of the security of the United States, and essentially the same members of Congress were opposed to aid? Nothing, it was just domestic political intrigue in the United States. But in today’s United States, “Trump must be president even if the world, including the USA, were to perish.”

Russia is still the same, if not worse, enemy for the West than it was during the Cold War, and today there is a chance to defeat it with Western weapons in the hands of Ukraine. Secession of Russian colonies in the Caucasus and Siberia, following the example of the 14 union republics in 1991, would curb the Kremlin’s aggressive capabilities. And the free world would be left with only one problem to solve, China.

The worst are people who have nothing in their head, because then anything can appear there. Donald Trump’s presidential campaign words: “No, I would not protect you (NATO allies). In fact, I would encourage them (the Russians) to do whatever the hell they want,” can be translated as follows. I, the self-proclaimed director of the Globe, regardless of contractual obligations, at my will, personify the right to elevate someone, to throw another to the Russian hordes. In his endless narcissism, Donald Trump is able to conclude a “deal” with Putin similar to the Hitler-Stalin (or Molotov-Ribbentrop) pact.

Interestingly, the activation of Article 5 on NATO’s collective defense happened once in history. Not at the instigation of Europe, but it was the United States after the attacks of September 11, 2000, who asked for help. Donald Trump’s views conforming to the opinion of ordinary Americans, the blocking of aid to Ukraine for several months due to the internal political intrigues of his loyalists, the necessity of humiliatingly begging Europe for the approval of aid, all this leads to the conclusion that the United States can no longer be relied on. Europe must become independent in the military field, even at the cost of federalization.

Either one of the leaders of the West takes after Ronald Reagan the leadership of a new crusade for freedom or we deserve a war with Russia.
