The head of the prime minister’s office, Jan Grabiec, said the device was found during a routine check that security forces do before every cabinet meeting, regardless of where the meeting takes place.

“We have to reckon with the fact that there are forces and actors who are interested in disrupting the secrecy of the government meetings,” said Grabiec.

Deputy Minister of the Interior Tomasz Siemoniak pointed out that it could be a device that someone had placed in the hall at the voivodship office earlier, but it only came to light now. The Polish security services are investigating the case of the find.

Since the Russian invasion of Ukraine, Poland has reported several times about the capture of people working for the Russian secret services. The country is one of Kyiv’s key allies, it is also important for the logistics of military aid deliveries to Ukraine.
