This happened during the press conference, which was the start of the Brussels Motor Show, which on January 13 next year will become a watershed day for the international viewing of the best of the world of individual mobility.

Led by a jury, the European Car of the Year (COTY) selected 27 new automobiles from the original list, they met all the requirements for installation by 2023, surprisingly only 10 of the nominees were electric.

There are eight cars in the final week. The electric double Subaru Solterra and Toyota bZ4X are considered the same model by the jury. Electric VW ID.Buzz and Nissan Ariya are among the rest. For the other finalists, we will come across electrification: the Jeep Avenger is presented as an electric model, but it is clear that it will arrive in Europe with an internal combustion engine, so far only in Spain and Italy. The Kia Niro is a car that I like both in an electric version and as a hybrid and plug-in hybrid. The Peugeot 408 is currently available in versions with an internal combustion engine and as a plug-in hybrid, but eventually also in a battery version. Renault Austral will be offered exclusively with hybrid drives.

The first round of the election, in which each of the 61 jurors from 23 European countries anonymously announced their seven favorites, was closed on November 23. However, the method of the second round of the election has changed. The judges will test and compare the finalists for the last time not at the end of November, but in mid-January, on the Belgian track Circuit de Mettet (there were two on the CERAM circuit in Mortefontaine, France). The Vtz should then be announced not in March, but on January 13, so the title of Car of the Year (COTY) 2023 will be available for practically the whole year. The ceremonial launch will take place before the opening of the Brussels Motor Show, whereas in the last ten years it has been held at the Geneva Motor Show, which is a thing of the past, according to the legend.

The Car of the Year (COTY) voter poll has been without wings since 1963 and is completely independent. The following associations are involved in the organization of the trades: Auto (Italy), Autocar (Great Britain), Autopista (Penland), Autovisie (Netherlands), LAutomobile (France) and Vi Bilagare (Vidland). Nmeck Stern was replaced by Automobil Revue (Austria), Autotrends (Belgium) and Firmenauto (Germany). Currently, the composition of the jury mainly consists of the countries of Western and Central Europe. This year there are est en among them. esk republic mv COTY one member since 1993, always editor of Automobil magazine. Until 2000 it was Milan Jozf, until 2015 it was Tom Hyan and from 2016 it was Ji Ducho for the Czech Republic.
