Life offers only a few certainties. These include aging, death, and SMS messages from the operator the moment you leave the confines of your home. In the territory of the European Union, there is usually no need to even read reports informing about the prices of services abroad, because they are the same as in the Czech Republic. However, the price changes significantly the moment you head outside the EU. That’s when an eSIM can help, thanks to which you can stay connected to the world without breaking the bank. eSIM is now also offered by Revolut, but there are far more providers. According to what to choose from their offer?

Traveling has become a passion for many, which they want to share at least remotely with their family or even with the whole world, for example through social networks. To do this, however, it is necessary to be able to make calls, send SMS and nowadays also be supplied with a sufficient portion of mobile data. However, this is not at all a cheap matter in roaming. For example, Vodafone’s World Roaming offers 1 MB for 302.50 crowns, and this will make you think twice about going to surf the Internet or go to the waves instead.

This problem can be solved with the help of the so-called eSIM, which allows you to use the services of local telecommunications operators thanks to a chip built directly into the phone. After arriving at the destination, it is not necessary to run around the branches of local operators and look for a physical SIM card, eSIM can be arranged with a few clicks directly from the phone. The purchase itself is usually simple and for activation you just need to click on the sent link or QR code. Before that, however, it is necessary to check whether your phone supports eSim technology, which is a condition that most models sold from 2019 should meet.

What eSIM can and cannot do

Advantages:

  • Connection immediately after landing or crossing borders
  • Everything can be done from the phone
  • Transparent prices
  • Option to pay by card
  • Use of the network of local telecommunication service providers

Disadvantages:

  • Higher purchase prices compared to SIM cards from local providers
  • Not all eSIMs allow phone calls and sending SMS
  • Installation may be problematic for less experienced mobile phone users
  • Not all phone models support eSIM

Several factors influence the choice of a suitable eSIM provider. Of course, the most important thing is the price of the services offered, but the destination where the eSIM is to be used or the purposes for which you are purchasing it can also influence the choice. Most eSIMs primarily offer data, and only some eSIM providers also allow phone calls. The speed of the data connection and the duration of the offered services also differ. We have therefore selected six options from whom to use an eSIM. We compared their golden mean offers in the form of 5 GB or similar data volume for 30 days in tourist attractive destinations and also within entire continents
