BMW has rejuvenated the four-door 4 series – News

--

The modernization of the BMW i4 and the 4 Series Gran Coupé for the 2025 model year is particularly recognizable thanks to the use of new headlights. These have a new light signature in the shape of boomerangs, which we also know from other modern cars of the brand. Of course, various decors, such as the mask frame, underwent a minor modification, especially with regard to colors.

At the rear, the automaker used laser lights that were first introduced on the limited edition BMW M4 CSL model. The offer has also expanded to include several new designs of 19- and 20-inch wheels, and customers will find new shades in the paint palette.

The cabin also underwent a minor change, in which the number of physical buttons was regulated. The automaker is betting on the new BMW iDrive 8.5 digital interface with the QuickSelect function. The crew can thus set quick access to selected functions, such as ventilation, navigation or heated seats/steering wheel, directly from the home screen.

The range of decors and upholstery has also been slightly modified, with sports seats now standard for both the i4 and the 4 Series Gran Cabrio. The all-electric model also has improved navigation with better planned stops and charging.

Technically, the electric car has not changed in any way, but the internal combustion engines have undergone minor improvements. These work together with a mild-hybrid 48V system, whose 8 kW (11 hp) electric motor immediately assists the combustion engine.

Customers can choose from a pair of four-cylinder petrol engines – the BMW 420i Gran Coupé offers 135 kW (184 hp), while the BMW 430i xDrive Gran Coupé offers 180 kW (245 hp). The M440i xDrive in-line six-cylinder petrol engine provides the driver with a maximum output of 275 kW (374 hp).

The four-cylinder diesel 420d Gran Coupé, including the xDrive version, offers a maximum output of 140 kW (245 hp), while the six-cylinder diesel inline 430d xDrive Gran Coupé makes 210 kW (286 hp) available.

The car manufacturer has not yet published the prices or the delivery date of the modernized models, but it boasted that the Gran Coupé body design is the most successful variant in the BMW 4 Series range – for the year 2023, it accounted for over 70 percent of orders.
