The last accused remains in custody in the corruption case, which concerns the influencing of hospital orders in hospitals in Ústík and Jihlava. This was confirmed to Seznam Zprávám by the supervising public prosecutor Lukáš Jindra. “One accused is currently being prosecuted,” Jindra said.

List Reports from sources familiar with the course of the investigation into the case have verified that it is the main character of this case – businessman Tomáš Burian. He remains in custody because, according to the court, there is a risk that he could flee. Prosecutor Jindra had previously written in a document for the court that Burian regularly goes to Monaco or Bad Ragaz in Switzerland.

Petr Malý, the former head of Regional Health, which unites seven hospitals in Ústeck, was thus released from custody in recent days. Lawyer Jan Hrazdira, who represents him, did not want to comment on this. Malý himself did not pick up the mobile phone and did not even respond to the questions sent.

The then director of Regional Health, Petr Malý, was charged by the police because, according to their findings, he took bribes. In addition, when influencing public contracts – as the detectives wrote in the indictment – he followed Burian’s instructions.

The case of a contract for waste management for around 197 million crowns is also part of the police accusation. In this context, according to the police, Malý and Burian planned to gradually collect a total of more than 13.8 million crowns. And before they were arrested in mid-February, according to the police, they managed to divide over 1.3 million.

In addition to Malé, the former head of Jihlava hospital Lukáš Velev and businessmen Jan Mára and Miroslav Hůserek have already been released from custody.

A total of ten people were charged in this corruption case surrounding hospital contracts in Ústík and Vysočín. They are also facing prosecution due to the fact that the contracts were awarded to pre-selected companies. They then provided bribes to the organized group – as the police claim.
