Planning for this year’s summer holidays is already in full swing and Czechs are looking forward to finally leaving their homes again after a year for a week or two and spending a wonderful time somewhere by the sea. For many, it is the highlight of the year. However, in addition to unpleasant surprises, for example in Croatia, where it will again be really expensive, they can have really rough moments after their return.
He tries all the time
Thieves in the Czech Republic are extremely resourceful, and anyone who thinks that burglaries in family houses and apartments is a thing of the past would be wrong. On the contrary, today it is not only desperate individuals who engage in it as before, but entire organized groups that have sophisticated procedures and are very difficult to catch, as was recently shown in a series of burglaries around Prague.
Thieves once again have a plethora of tricks ready for this season. One of them is, for example, the use of adhesive tape, which tests whether the given property is really abandoned. The procedure is simple. They simply cover the lock with transparent tape and wait for some time. Then they come to see if it is intact. If this is the case, they can safely assume that you are not home.
If they are at home, nothing happens from the point of view of robbers. Owners usually just tear the tape or notice it and remove it. But they don’t realize that something very unpleasant is brewing here. They usually think of it as just a childish prank. After all, how many times have your little ones stuck something on you, right?
How to grow on them
It is actually just a variant of another trick that is also still used. And that’s sweeping the cookie under the rug. If the cookie is still whole after a few days, it means that no one is in the house. But if it is trampled on, someone entered the house and it is not exactly the best thing to so-called “do it”.
Paws are very difficult to defend against. Some experts recommend creating a smart home and controlling the lighting remotely from your vacation. This means turning it on and off again from time to time. It’s supposed to make you feel like you’re at home. However, professionals know this well and can verify it themselves using the methods described above.

It is therefore ideal that you have a good insurance policy for your household. You shouldn’t have really valuable things at home at all. That’s what bank safes are made of, for example. Alternatively, get a truly impregnable safe for your home. But be careful. A small safe does not really solve the problem. Thieves can easily take it with them and open it somewhere.
