The company has still not managed to break into the Deutschland Ticket system.

Flix, which also includes the FlixTrain brand, has announced a new expansion in the country where it started with the railway after withdrawing from the Swedish market. Since May, the company has been offering 40% more capacity in its trains than before.

The company announced the expansion despite the fact that it failed to join the Deutschland Ticket (D-Ticket) system, i.e. a ticket allowing unlimited travel on regional and city public transport for 49 euros per month.

The company now offers six pairs of connections on the route Berlin – Cologne (four times so far). There are now up to eight daily connections between Berlin and Frankfurt instead of the original six pairs of connections.

FlixTrain ends in Sweden, moves capacity to Germany

The FLX11 line from Berlin to Mainz (Mainz) via Wolfsburg is returning after the service interruption caused by the lockouts. The carrier now offers 50 different stops on the German railway.

With FlixTrain, we want to permanently change the mobility landscape in Germany,” says Flix CEO and co-founder André Schwämmlein. “We see enormous demand for an alternative rail offering and we are responding to the great success we already have with FlixTrain by expanding our offering,” he added.

The company says that travel times are comparable to ICE high-speed trains, even though they run with classic cars at a maximum of 200 km/h.
