The main move to Austria will close in the south of Bohemia. The emergency crossing will be repaired

--

From May 10 to 28, a shutdown is also planned on the lines České Budějovice – Horní Dvořiště and Rybník – Lipno.

Work on the improvement of road I/3 in the village of Kaplice nádraží in Český Krumlov will reach the stage of complete closure of this main route to Upper Austria on Friday. A full road closure is scheduled for May 10-12, followed by a shuttle service.

The main part of the works on the I/3 road in the settlement is the reconstruction of the local railway crossing, which is in a state of emergency. “Subsequently, construction modifications will be completed, thanks to which pedestrian safety will be increased later this year and which will allow cars to exit the D3 highway interchange,” added David Hocke, spokesman for the South Bohemian Region.

Drivers will be directed to three detours during the full road closure. For vehicles under 10 tons, the detour route will lead through Trhové Sviny and Strážkovice, for vehicles under 20 tons, the detour route will be through Český Krumlov and Větřní, and for vehicles over 20 tons, the detour will lead through Český Krumlov and Černá v Pošumaví.

From May 13 to 28, there will be a partial closure of road I/3 in Kaplica nádraží. During this stage, one-lane shuttle traffic will be allowed. “Traffic control will be provided by construction workers from 6:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., the rest of the time there will be traffic lights,” added Adam Koloušek, spokesman for the Directorate of Roads and Highways (ŘSD).

Road II/157 to Český Krumlov will be completely closed during this stage. On the other hand, traffic on road II/157 will be conducted in one direction only, in the direction of Besednice.

From May 10 to May 28, a shutdown is also planned on the lines České Budějovice – Horní Dvořiště and Rybník – Lipno (here until May 29).

The definitive solution for the municipalities on the I/3 road south of České Budějovice and for motorists heading to Austria should be the D3 highway, especially the twelve-kilometer section Kaplice nádraží – Nažidla, which is the last one in South Bohemia that has not yet been built. Construction is scheduled to begin this year.
