Behind the wheel of the rejuvenated Skoda Octavia: Ask what interests you!

At the end of this week, the first kilometers behind the wheel of the modernized Škoda Octavia await us. This time, however, we are not flying to the south of Europe, but will stay in Bohemia and Moravia. However, it will be all the more interesting!

Skoda is busy this year. It introduces a flood of novelties on the market. After the rejuvenated Scala and Kamiq models, completely new generations of Škoda Superb and Kodiaq came next. And a little while after them comes the main star in the form of the best-selling Škoda in history.

Fortunately, unlike the second and third editions, the fourth generation Octavia has not changed its face significantly. The front lights are now more elongated and copy the new shape of the radiator grille. The bumpers and other parts of the body were also modified. However, the result is significantly less controversial than with the aforementioned predecessors.

The multimedia system, following the example of its larger siblings, will receive artificial intelligence support in the form of ChatGPT, we can also look forward to richer basic equipment, which now includes, for example, dual-zone air conditioning.

The technique has changed a bit more. The supercharged three-cylinder 1.0 TSI definitely no longer continues its journey, the role of the basic engine is now fulfilled by a four-cylinder fifteen-cylinder engine with 85 kilowatts. At the opposite end is the strengthened four-cylinder 2.0 TSI of the RS model, which gives 195 kilowatts instead of the previous 180.

The top version is not yet in the price list, the planned plug-in hybrid with a 1.5 TSI engine is also missing. However, the core engines already know their Czech price. You can view the complete current price list in the table below this paragraph.

If the vast majority of new car presentations take place abroad (due to the weather, infrastructure and roads mostly in southern European countries), this time we will stay at home with the Škoda Octavia. From Prague, we will go to the picturesque Mikulov and its surroundings, which gives us a unique opportunity to try a rejuvenated bestseller in home conditions, which are quite specific, at least in terms of the quality of the surface of the local roads.
