The singer, who became famous in the music group Little Mix, blames her partner’s work for not living together. Last year, the footballer transferred from Liverpool to the Turkish Besiktas in the Süper Lig, where he signed a three-year contract.
“I’m not going to lie, it’s hard. When he was playing for Liverpool and living in Manchester, it was easy to travel back and forth, but Turkey is a bit further away and he doesn’t have much time off,” Edwards confided in an interview with The Jonathan Ross Show.
“I’m trying to launch a solo career and have a two-year-old at the same time, so it’s a lot, but we do it for the ones we love, right?” the singer said. “We’ve never lived together anyway—in the entire eight years we’ve been in a relationship.”
Host Jonathan Ross also asked her about a song she co-wrote with singer RAYE about their relationship. “Me and my partner don’t fight, we’re very relaxed. But at the same time, I can be a petty bitch sometimes, I can’t help it. I don’t know if it’s my sign, I’m a Cancer. I’m very stubborn, very emotional,” she explained.
“I often resent him for anything he says. I just can’t help it, I’m like that. We started writing a song about it and I thought I could really relate to the lyrics,” added the singer.
