The Met Gala red carpet becomes the scene of legendary fashion milestones. Last night was no exception. The best dressed were those who paid tribute to this year’s theme in a thoughtful and unexpected way – the dress code was: Garden of Time.
Flowers, unsurprisingly, became the main hit of the evening. Celebrities turned into walking bouquets. Nicki Minaj bloomed in the dress In vain covered in hand-painted metal flowers and Gigi Hadid in a three-dimensional floral creation by Thom Browne. Not only haute couture dictated this year’s style The Met Gala. Adwoah Aboah, for example, wore an H&M ensemble and earned a standing ovation for the sexiest look with it, as she showed off her pregnant belly in a crop top and frilled skirt.
But the stars also showed much more unexpected stylings, somewhat avant-garde, which at the same time proved that the floral theme does not always have to be about flowers only. Lana Del Rey she brought the drama in a veiled Alexander McQueen look with an antler headdress; it was a thoughtful tribute to the iconic collection from autumn 2006. The singer Tyla also found the courage to turn into a sand sculpture in an illusory dress under the baton of the team Balmain and Olivier Rousteing.
What about men? Josh O’Connor (in Loewe), Morgan Spector (in Willy Chaverria) and Stefon Diggs (in H&M) ranked among the best dressed men. Which looks were your favorites?
