Women over 50 should set an example and inspire not only women in their age group in dressing, but also the younger ones. In the new episode of the Lifee.cz magazine show, 3 minutes of style stylist Nikola Marková will focus on the spring wardrobe of women over 50: “The best way to create a functional wardrobe at this age is simplicity and moderation. You will see for yourself that it doesn’t have to be boring.”

Spring wardrobe essentials for women 50+

What you should not miss in your wardrobe are the following basic pieces: Trench coat, shorter woolen coat or more fitted jacket, basic tops made of quality materials such as cotton, linen or silk. A white shirt and some well-fitting jeans remain basic, to which we add even weaker trousers with a higher waist. Midi-length wrap skirt, classic-cut dress and linen set that can be worn separately or together.

Let’s not forget the accessories either. You will need these – a smaller crossbody bag, a larger knitted bag, white sneakers, moccasins, open sandals and of course sunglasses. Ladies who love elegance can also add a hat.

Choose a timeless trench coat according to body proportions

“The first one a must-have piece for spring is a trench coat. It is the perfect complement to any of your outfits on colder days. In addition, thanks to the belting at the waist, it accentuates the silhouette and the waist. Important is choose the right length according to your figure. And also focus on quality material and workmanship,” advises stylist Nikola Marková when choosing a trench coat.

Linen clothing as a trend for spring/summer 2024

Linen dresses, trousers and suits are very flattering and feminine, moreover this hit can be used in several ways. You can wear them both together and separately. Linen pants will look great with a simple shirt or a waistcoat and a linen jacket will be your partner on colder days.

Stylist’s advice: “Don’t freeze in dressing and wear outfits that add a certain youthfulness. In addition to linen dresses, you can also buy a shirt dress with a tie at the waist for your wardrobe. This will again help create a nice silhouette.”

Figure flattering dresses and skirts

You will look feminine even in a dress with madeira. “Don’t be afraid of a bolder color or pattern. Go for it decent, preferably in a black and white combinationwhich will go well with your other pieces,” the stylist advises.

Between trendy skirts for spring this year also include wraps. They are very flattering thanks to the tie at the waist and feminine thanks to the slit. Choose the length and cut according to the proportions of your figure, and in addition to linen, you can go for denim, satin, pleated and A-shaped.

Elegance in trousers for women 50+

Linen and cotton pants are suitable for spring and summer. They will suit you trousers of a looser cut, to the waist and with a length slightly above the ankle.

Of course, don’t forget about the outfits supplements that can rejuvenate you and to highlight the overall impression. “Wear minimalist white sneakers that are youthful and go with anything but evening gowns. Or reach for more elegant moccasins or ballet flats” Nikola Marková adds tips and adds: “You absolutely need a smaller crossbody bag and complement it with a larger knitted one that will give your outfit a twist on warmer days.”

Stylist’s advice: “Always stick to a maximum of two colors in two to three shades in your outfits.”
