Bara doesn’t know what to do. The meeting with Petr did not go as she had dreamed it would, she has no documents and is beginning to doubt whether it was a good idea to return. Maybe she is destined to live with nuns. They helped her when she was a child and sheltered her now.
Petr promises her that he will take care of the documents, but she probably expected something else from him. But when it comes to love, Petr is terribly indecisive and now he’s happy with Toni, so he doesn’t want to change anything.
Toni pretends to Petr that she does not see Bára as a threat, but she is not very enthusiastic about the idea of Bára returning to work in the store. After all, she is not as sure about her position in Petr Kučera’s life as she pretends to be.
Kristýna is annoying to everyone around her. As a German, she receives more food stamps, and that is not forgiven. In the new school, her classmates look at her as inferior, and her friends from the old one stopped greeting her. Everyone thinks she joined the Germans because of the benefits. And the worst part is that Vojta probably thinks so too. The nice thing they had between them is suddenly gone.
Gruber brings Martin into the store and keeps pressing him to tell him the names of the people from the resistance. They tell him about Eva that they killed her. When Alena tells him the truth, he threatens her with a concentration camp. Finally, Gruber’s attention is drawn to Vágner, and Martin, who returns to the prison with only one soldier, manages to escape with the help of Mach’s people. He only stops at Grandma’s for a jump and disappears away. Vágner is worse off because Gruber dares him to question him.
Alena wants to have an abortion, but Irena excuses her, saying that it’s too late and it’s too dangerous for her. Alena foolishly hopes that if she is not expecting a child, Gruber will give her peace. Then she comes up with another solution and wants Jakub to marry her and recognize the child as his own. That could make Gruber’s plans a bit more complicated.
But Jakub is very careful and knows that Gruber will take revenge. He doesn’t want to take that risk. But after a while it settles in his head and it no longer seems like a bad idea. After all, he could make some money from it.
When he talks to Irena about Alena’s proposal, she is in favor. She herself does not know how to help Alena, and it is clear to her that Gruber has no plans to stop. But Jakub will want something from Irena if he is to marry. And it’s not money.
