By bus to Armenia. Hostovice enjoyed the experience thanks to the best football address

--

Almost no football fan missed the match between the Czech Republic and Armenia (2:1). The home premiere of Ivan Hašek, the new coach of the national team, was also watched directly from the stands by representatives and players of the SK Hostovice club. They had it as a reward. Their campus received a special award from Deník last year: it became the best football address in the country.

Hostess. Once upon a time, it was an independent village that was incorporated into Ústí nad Labem during the Second World War. I hope the locals won’t be offended, but apart from the football field, you won’t find anything interesting here.

But the playground itself is unique. It is slanted because of the slope. Every opponent has a hard time getting used to the fact that one half is played uphill.

Despite this (or precisely because of this), Hostovice rejoiced last year at the triumph in a unique competition poll for the best football address in the Czech Republic.

The fans decided: The best football address in the Czech Republic is located in the north of Bohemia

“We had great joy, the players, their families, the surroundings experienced it,” said club secretary Libor Touš.

A small club from Ústí nad Labem, which plays in the lowest regional competition (IB class), ascended the throne thanks to more than 100 thousand votes. As a reward, kegs of beer, tickets to the water park and also tickets to the football team went to the address of the head of the group.

The discussion in the clubhouse did not last long. The players wanted to go on a trip to Prague, so they said: “We’ll wait until March.”

March came and match with Armenia, which brought a famous moment in the club’s history. “We sent a bus to the match,” explained coach Jaroslav Dvořák. Of the total number of 16,158 spectators at Letná, 23 of them came from Hostovice.

The coach described with a smile that it was an experience connected with a kind of team building. He said he had never seen so many footballers together after the winter break. “First we went to the fanzone, had a few beers…” he commented.

The course of the friendly match itself did not excite the footballers playing in the seventh highest competition. “I was surprised by the speed of the Armenians on the sides. You don’t know them and then they perform this,” noted Dvořák, who revealed that he is a Spartan. “And I honestly say that I was not happy with Ladislav Krejčí’s performance. He has no form, he approaches situations lightly. It is absurd that he was voted player of the match.’

The hostess was pleased with the atmosphere. No screeching, on the contrary, a rumble that they do not experience in their picturesque area (or in the case of their rivals).

“We are happy that we entered the competition. I wasn’t a coach at the time of the vote, but I kind of stirred it up. I am a hardened Hostovičák and I wanted us to win it,” concluded Dvořák.
