The tragic case of the killing of a boy in Most. The trial continued with the emotional testimony of the mother

Ústí nad Labem – Crying and emotional scenes rang out in the courtroom at the Regional Court in Ústí nad Labem on Thursday, where the tragic case of the death of a four-year-old boy is being discussed. He was stabbed last May by the mother’s boyfriend in a conflict with the child’s biological father. The mother of the deceased boy testified in court.

The testimony of the woman, who is the mother of three children, revealed the entire family tragedy of the relationship triangle between the parties to the dispute. “When I met Francesco, he charmed us all, he behaved like a gentleman. After two months I got pregnant with him. But soon his true personality was revealed. He was mean, aggressive, unfortunately I never went to report it because I had no visible injuries. I wasn’t good enough for him at anything, he embarrassed us everywhere with his climbs, even ruined our trips. My two older children soon stopped liking him and preferred to stay with their father. After a while, even little Frankie started calling him bubo instead of papa,” the woman described during her testimony.

According to her, she grew up with the defendant Michal Pokuta, who stabbed her son with a knife during an argument between him and the child’s biological father. According to her, all her children liked him.

According to her, Itala initially had a friendly relationship with the defendant Michal Pokuta. “Francesco confused him too at the beginning. They were friends, went out for beer together, went to Italy together to get a car. But as Francesco became discolored, conflicts began between them as well,” the woman recalled. She also admitted that she lived alternately with both men – i.e. both with the father of her child and with the defendant Michal Pokuta. This also affected the last weeks before the tragedy. “I went to Italy with my little one to see Francesco, then I came to the Czech Republic for my second son. I had an argument with Michal, that’s why I went there with the idea that Francesco and I would live as a family. We lived in a beautiful house, he had cooked every day. Because of him, I stopped using drugs, even smoking from day to day. Still, it wasn’t enough for him and I was the bad one. He took our documents so we couldn’t go back. He returned them to us only at the insistence of the father of my two older children, who also sent us money so that we could return to the Czech Republic. I then wrote to Francesco from the Czech Republic that I was breaking up with him,” added the woman. On the day when the tragedy occurred, she and defendant Michal Pokuta were supposed to go see the apartment where they will live together. That didn’t happen anymore.

The woman’s court was enraged several times by the questions that the judge needed to deal with the differences in her statements before the court and shortly after the crime to the police. “I don’t understand why you keep asking me! Try to put yourself in my shoes. People yell at me in the street. They deny my family and children on the Internet that everything is my fault. But it’s all the other way around. I was the only one who was clean at the time – when I found out at the police what Francesco had in him, it was a shock for me. He was the one who stole my child, took his ID, and I learned that he had bought tickets for Sunday. He kept threatening us the whole time, I should have listened to the social worker and reported him for stalking. We would have peace and nothing would have happened,” the woman cried during the interrogation.

Before the courtroom, she added how the whole family copes with the situation. “It took my daughter longer to understand what had happened. My son tries to keep me afloat, he wants to have a cheerful mother. Luckily, everyone at school treats them great. We still remember the little one, it hurts. The only positive thing is that Francesko stopped bothering us,” the woman pointed out. No matter how the trial turns out, she wants to stay with the defendant Michal Pokuta. “We can handle it,” the woman concluded.

The trial also continued with the questioning of a forensic expert from the field of psychology, who also presented the conclusions of his colleague from the field of psychiatry. “The defendant has a borderline personality disorder, is emotionally unstable and histrionic (author’s note – tendency to dramatize banal conflicts). His personality is influenced by his dependence on psychostimulant substances, however, the amount used during the conflict did not affect his recognition abilities,” said forensic expert Jiří Klose. He also confirmed that the remorse shown over the death of the little boy was not feigned in order to reduce the sentence.

Furthermore, the expert commented on the possibility of the defendant’s correction. “Resocialization is less likely given his addiction to psychostimulants and his current lifestyle,” the expert noted.

The trial continues with a hearing on May 19, when the child’s biological father, Francesco Manigrasso, will testify. We described the course of Wednesday’s meeting HERE.
