The thief took the children’s Easter allowance from the Chomutov kindergarten. The officers intervened

Chomut police officers made a nice gesture to repair the damage caused by the thief, which was completely inexplicable. He sneaked into the grounds of Zahrádka Kindergarten in Kundratická Street in Chomutov at the time of Easter and took away the sweet earnings intended for the children. But the city police did not leave it alone and, to the great surprise of the management of the mother and the children, brought a replacement allowance.

“It offended us. We didn’t understand how anyone could afford to rob children of their Easter allowance,” outlined city police spokeswoman Kateřina Krellerová. “When a colleague received the notice, he immediately asked us if we had the possibility to get compensation for the children. We were ready to settle for it, but coincidentally we had beautiful packages ready with vests, pendants and reflective tapes, which even corresponded numerically. So we immediately took them to the kindergarten,” added the spokeswoman.

As the deputy director of the Chomutov Municipal Police Jiří Vaníček added, the officers learned about the theft at the time when, together with the state police, they were participating in a tactical exercise at the ESOZ high school in Chomutov due to a simulated attack by an active shooter.

Kindergarten director Jana Pézrová did not leave the policemen’s good deed without an appropriate reaction. “Yesterday, I and our children had the opportunity to know the two faces of a person. The evil, reckless act was shown to us by an unknown perpetrator who took advantage of an unguarded moment and stole packages from the children’s Easter treasure from the closed school garden, which was waiting for the children after completing the tasks of the Easter Bunny,” she wrote to the director of the city police. “The second, empathetic and kind one, was shown to us by your employees who, after I announced the event, not only tried to find the perpetrators, but most importantly offered themselves a gift for the children,” she added.

The director expected that it would be more about small things like stickers or coloring books, but the police officers arrived with a large box in which there was a package full of surprises for each of the children. “Of course, it’s not about the size of the gift at all, but about the wonderful gesture, to make the children happy after they experienced such a big disappointment,” praised director Pézrová.
