Just a moment after the negotiations between the coalition and the opposition regarding the pension reform ended at Prague Castle, the presidential office published a video in which President Petr Pavel went on a plane ride and wished people a pleasant Easter holiday.
“I wish you to spend the upcoming Easter holidays in the way you like the most. Perhaps with his head in the clouds,” the post reads. The clip contains footage of Pavlov getting into the cockpit and then a montage of the flight. The song Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door, covered by the American rock group Guns N’ Roses, plays in the background.
The publication of the video clip “with his head in the clouds” followed only shortly after Pavel supported the intention of the coalition, according to which the retirement age will have to be extended in the future.
Some presidents’ marketers portray their clients in less-than-usual roles in an attempt to attract attention. It’s only been a few days since black and white photos of French President Emmanuel Macron wearing boxing gloves in the ring surfaced shortly after he came up with the idea of military intervention by European countries in Ukraine.
Pavel, known for his fondness for this type of leisure activity, recently jumped with a parachute, for example. “They made me sign a paper as an alibi that they would not guard me for that time,” Pavel said at the time about the security guard’s reaction to the intention to jump off.
The president is especially fond of riding a motorcycle, he goes out on it once in a while. At the beginning of last August, it was also discussed that Pavel was riding a motorcycle without a helmet. The president later apologized and announced that he would donate money to help motorcyclists who ended up in wheelchairs through no fault of others.
