A successful dentist sells “minted Czech history”, the coins have already fetched 155 million

--

Lka Vclav Bruna created a collection of coins and medals for half a century, focusing on coins of Czech and Moravian origin from Celtic times to the time of the first Slovak Republic. Along with the Celtic rabs, the collection also includes coins similar to the Stedovka and Habsburg coins from the Czech and Moravian mints from the similar 16th and 18th centuries.

This collection is, in its own way, an early biography of our nation, said Bruno. He expected that the value of the collection at the auction will be 120 million crowns, including the purchase price.

As a result, Bruno’s house was blown away, if not half of the collection was sold to me, even if I take the more valuable ones. Five hundred auctions at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel Prague acquired 444 items, and there will be 613 items in Sunday’s online auction. I will publish the overall results after it is over.

Bruna was born in 1950 in Pardubice. He studied dentistry at the Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Krlov. After completing his military training in Slovakia, the communist regime sentenced him to life imprisonment for sedition.

After emigrating to Austria, he built a successful dental practice there. After the revolution of 1989, he first devoted himself to the family property in Zmrsko in Orlickostek and to horse breeding, and Velk Pardubick became the owner of his horse Perun. In the 1990s, Bruna founded a dental clinic in Dolnm Dvoiti in the Esko Krumlov region.
