Meteorologists canceled the warning in the Pilsen region.

Due to the dust from the Sahara, there was a warning in the entire republic. It was first announced for the South Bohemian Region and Vysočina, meteorologists later extended it to other parts of Bohemia and Moravia, including the Pilsen Region.

The alert was lifted on Monday, April 1.

“We canceled the smog situation in the regions of Pilsen, South Bohemia, Hradec Králové, Pardubice and Vysočín. The threshold values of the 12-hour averages at the measuring stations have already been exceeded for more than 3 hours, and we do not expect the concentration of Saharan dust in the air to rise again,” stated the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute.

“In Moravia and Silesia, concentrations are currently increasing, they should decrease only after the passage of a cold front from the west in the evening. Because we expect a drop in concentrations within 24 hours, we will not issue a smog situation for the South Moravian, Zlín and Olomouc Regions – the criteria for issuing a smog situation are not met.” meteorologists added.
