This year, the Tomas Bata monument is unusually opening a month earlier, this time already on Tuesday, April 2. Visitors can look forward to guided tours every day except Monday until the end of September.

“We put the monument back on the map of tourist attractions in 2019 through an extensive renovation. Over forty-eight thousand visitors visited it during the past four seasons. I believe that with its extraordinary architecture, this cultural monument will also appeal to another audience, for whom by extending the main season we are creating an even more comfortable place to visit,” said Deputy Mayor Martina Hladíková.

Wednesday, April 3, which is Tomas Bata’s birthday, could be a good opportunity to plan a trip. “On the occasion of the anniversary, we will offer visitors guided tours with free admission. They will take place classically, i.e. from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., always starting on the hour, as is the case during normal operation,” said the head of the memorial, Magdaléna Hladká. Due to the expected higher interest and limited capacity, a reservation is recommended, which is possible now on the website. Before the tour, it is necessary to pick up a free ticket at the Monument Infopoint.

There are more similar events on the program this year, for example as part of Gallery and Museum Night, Architecture Day or European Heritage Days, which will include the Zlín monument for the first time. Even during regular tours, however, there will be something to look forward to. “We are currently completing the update of the tour circuit, which we are enriching with new information and visual materials. We are also starting to gradually change the promotional items and printed materials that tourists can take away from us,” pointed out Hladká.
