The building of a well-known motor station at a road intersection in the center of Lubnec in the Podbořan region will see a new use. The building, which was used in the last century for refreshments during journeys between Prague and Karlovy Vary, is changing owners. The municipality buys it from a Vietnamese citizen. The building has not served its original purpose for about thirty years.

“I think we will find some use for the building. Personally, I would prefer new apartments, of which there are never enough, but we’ll see what other ideas come up,” said Jiří Chaloupecký, mayor of Lubenec.

The residents of the village can decide for what purpose the building of the former motor station should be used. Proposals can now be sent in a non-binding survey to the municipal office’s e-mail address or dropped into the mailbox on its building.

Lubenec was a traditional stop on the route Prague – Karlovy Vary. But transit traffic is already avoiding the municipality, a bypass began to serve drivers at the end of summer 2021 as part of the construction of the D6 highway.
