Almost 40 million crowns will be distributed by the Zlín region among 75 projects prepared by municipalities in the region. Except for three, all of them have already been approved by the Council of the Region, the subsidy for the rest still needs to be confirmed by the regional representatives.

The rural renewal support program has six subsidized titles with different focus. Through it, the region helps smaller cities and municipalities with projects for the restoration and maintenance of municipal property, contributes to the development of spatial plans, environmental protection or the restoration and development of threatened areas in municipalities. One subsidy title is intended for expanding the network of long-distance and regionally important cycle routes.

One of the municipalities that received a subsidy is Medlovice, which will receive 1 million crowns for the restoration of greenery and public spaces. The same amount will also be received by Sehradice for the revitalization of the children’s playground, or Vítonice for the bus stop.

Since last year, municipalities can also apply for money for the processing of project documentation for the construction, reconstruction or modernization of civic facilities buildings.

“Many of our municipalities are not able to draw enough subsidies simply because of a lack of funds for the preparation of projects. With the finished project documentation, they have a chance to get interesting national or European subsidies,” explained Deputy Governor Lubomír Traub, responsible for the strategic development of the region.

Additional money will go to the repair and restoration of monuments

More than seven million crowns will go from the Zlín Region to building renovation or restoration of monuments. The money will help, for example, in the repair of churches, castles and other monuments, but also in the restoration of crosses, altars or statues.

With the help of a regional subsidy of 400,000, for example, the roof of the church of the Good Shepherd in Loučka near Valašské Meziříčí will be repaired. With the same amount, the region will support the continuation of repairs to the entrance tower of Lukova Castle or the restoration of the organ in the Church of St. František Xaverský in Uherské Hradiště.

This year, Kroměříž will increase the contribution to the restoration and maintenance of the Podzámecká Garden

Among the monuments that will be affected by repairs and restoration work are Lešná u Zlína castle, Trubiska hunting lodge, St. Jakub the Elder in Brest, Bartk’s water mill in Nivnice, as well as several stone statues and crosses.

The region will support a total of 36 projects from the subsidy program to support building renovation and restoration of cultural monuments and monuments of local importance.
