Tips for a weekend near Pilsen: cycle race, aviation day, wine and burger festival

The April weather in recent days has not been favorable for outdoor events, but that should change this coming weekend. The forecast currently calls for temperatures over twenty degrees. If you are thinking about where to take your family, friends or significant other, then you can choose from the following few tips.

Already on Friday, April 26, in the afternoon, the holiday for all wine lovers will begin in the picturesque surroundings of Pilsen’s Smetana and Kopecky orchards. In addition to a rich selection of delicious street food and a cultural program in the form of live music, over twenty stalls offering the best wines from Moravia and Bohemia await you. The festival continues with its program on Saturday. There will also be a dulcimer.

You can come and watch the traditional two-day stage race of the Junior Road Cycling World Cup on Saturday and Sunday in Kyšice (near Pilsen) and the surrounding area. A circuit between Dýšina, Chrast and Červený Hrádek with the start and finish in the aforementioned Kyšice is prepared for the flourishing of the youth category from Europe, the United States of America and Canada.

The annual event at the airport in Plasy attracts spectators on the coming Saturday and Sunday to a parade of modern and historic aircraft, an air show in the form of aerobatic pilots led by Martin Šonka, champion of the Czech Republic and Europe, and an accompanying program in which members of the Police and Fire and Rescue Service. There will also be live music and interviews with guests.

Creators of the best delicious burgers from around the world will visit the three-day event in the courtyard of the Pilsen brewery on Friday. In almost twenty stands, they will present their best burgers, the preparation of which will take place before your eyes. Any break between tastings (or when you are full) can be filled with a tour of the local brewery.
