A day in the air

A day in the air takes place at the Plasy aero club airport April 27 and 28. The main program will offer a spectacle of modern and historical gems, the best aerobatic pilots and groups. The main attractions will be the SAAB JAS-39 Gripen army fighters, the North American P-51 D Mustang, aerobatic pilot Martin Šonka, a unique aerobatic helicopter from Austria and, for the first time in the Czech Republic, the French Fouga CM.170 Magister. Czech Radio Plzeň broadcasts a special program Žijeme tu s váci directly from the airport on both days, starting at 11 a.m.

Treffpunkt Festival

The Treffpunkt Festival, this year the tenth traditional Czech-Bavarian meeting with stylish music, good beer and tasty food, will take place April 25 to 27 at DEPO2015 in Pilsen. Bavarian Connection from Regensburg will play on Thursday, April 25, this year’s popular band Gletscherfetzer XXL will also perform, and the organizers have prepared a real special for Saturday evening: the girls’ party-band Mädchenalarm! In addition to the mentioned Bavarian groups, there will be other Czech bands on the program and another accompanying program.

Pilsen Wine Festival

They will meet at the traditional place U Branka on Friday and Saturday, April 26 and 27 winemakers from various wine-growing sub-regions of Bohemia and Moravia. The event will also include a food zone with a diverse range of dishes and a rich cultural program. It will feature ATMO music, Jakub Děkan & band, Vincúch cymbal music and, at the end, DJ Laaw and DJ Danda. Entrance is free, it will be open on both days from 1pm to 10pm.

Burger Street Festival Pilsen

The courtyard of the Pilsen brewery hosts a traditional street food festival from Friday to Sunday, April 26 – 28. The menu will include not only burgers, but also fries, nachos, macaroons, churros, ice cream, coffee and more.

Pilsen region half marathon

The Pilsen region half-marathon starts on Saturday, April 27 in front of the Škodaland complex in Pilsen at 10 a.m. The half-marathon route leads through Litice, Šlovice, Dobřany, Lhota and back to the České údolí reservoir. The race also includes other accompanying runs – regional ten, regional five, team runs and DAIKIN children’s runs. The band SEMTEX will provide musical accompaniment. Children have fun on the giant inflatable obstacle course and bouncy castles. A climbing wall and face painting will be prepared. The Krašovská Activities center of Plzeň is a novelty. The gates to the site will open at 7:30 a.m. on race day.

Weekend for Prácheň

The association “Prácheň živé!” prepared for April 26 to 28 program for all generations. On Friday from 18:00 there will be a social meeting “Prácheň žieve!” in the Cultural House of Velké Hydčice. Saturday will bring afternoon entertainment especially for families. At 2 p.m., the search game Prácheň žieve! will be launched on Mírové náměstí in Horažďovice. Participants will set out on a route approximately 2.5 kilometers long with playful tasks. In the afternoon from 4 p.m. in the church of St. A lecture by archaeologist Martin Pták is held at Kliment na Práchna. On Sundays from 3 p.m., anyone can participate in a public debate about the future of Práchna in the museum’s Theater Hall.
