The last round of the regular season of the highest football competition in the Czech Republic took place on Sunday. Sparta’s match in Olomouc had the greatest response outside the field, where one of the most numerous trips in the history of the republic went.
There were several thousand Spartans, and their performance in the stands reached the world. Videos and photos were shared, for example, by the well-known site Ultras World, but also by 433, which is followed by almost 73 million people on Instagram alone.
Some fans from Prague took advantage of the attractive date of the match and the location, they went to the Haná metropolis a day earlier.
Olomouc is one of the most visited cities in the country. The Belmondo night club, which became famous for the visit of football players Kuchta, Coufal and Brabec during the national team match in Olomouc, is currently also a destination for football fans.
Some Spartans also went here on Saturday before the game.
“Someone was probably here on Saturday, but they were wearing scarves and yelling all the time that they were Sparta, I don’t think so,” Filip Přenosil told the editors of the operating club, adding that Belmond is almost always full on weekends.
The “case” of Belmondo in a nutshellOn November 17 last year, the Czech national football team played a match in Poland as part of the qualification for the European Championship in Germany. From there, the team went to Olomouc, where on November 20 they were supposed to play at the Androv Stadium for the last match against Moldova. Two days before kick-off, the trio of players Jan Kuchta, Vladimír Coufal and Jakub Brabec went to the Belmondo club, where they also drank heavily, according to the pictures. The footballers left the national team meeting the following day. “Three players of the national team fundamentally violated the internal rules of the national team on Saturday night. “Jakub Brabec, Vladimír Coufal and Jan Kuchta have left the national team meeting with immediate effect by decision of the national team management,” the national team statement said. |
However, Belmonda’s operations are talking about something else, and that is the increased interest in the company, which was caused by the visit of the Czech representatives. According to him, taking a picture of the club while Belmondo is closed is now completely normal.
“You could say it’s the order of the day, someone shows up there every day. Some fan always remembers that Kuchta made a mess here, so he takes a picture there. Uncles, aunts, families, anything you can imagine,” says the operator.
The club is understandably happy for such visibility.
They still want to use the potential. As Filip Přenosil revealed, the management of the night club is preparing an e-shop where it will sell t-shirts. “There is a demand for it, so we will do an e-shop with Belmondo T-shirts and they will also be with Jan Kuchta,” he says.
