Almost three million crowns will be distributed by Pilsen among the owners of cultural monuments. Money from the subsidy program will go, for example, to repair the interior of the church of St. Peter and Paul in Litice or for the reconstruction of the prayer hall of Korand’s congregation on the English embankment in the center of the West Bohemian metropolis.

The city will provide 855,000 crowns to five applicants. The subsidy for the remaining seven will still be approved by the council. In total, another 2.01 million crowns will be distributed between them. For example, to repair the interior of the church of St. Peter and Paul in the city district of Litice will cost a quarter of a million crowns.

“The money will be used for the second stage of the restoration work, i.e. for the restoration of the original plaster and historical painting, as well as for the restoration of the internal stone facings of the window on the south side of the church,” approached the councilor for the area of culture and historic preservation Elisabeth Bartáková (YES).

She also added that the city of Pilsen will also contribute 300,000 to the reconstruction of the Congregational House and prayer room of Korand’s choir on the Anglicá nábřeží, specifically to the restoration of the entrance door to the vestibule from the exterior staircase of the facade. “The city of Pilsen contributes to the repair of monuments on an ongoing basis and supports a number of reconstructions every year. Also thanks to these funds, the state of monuments in our city improves and Pilsen is thus more attractive not only for its residents, but also for visitors.” concluded Bartáková.
