Formed in 1984 by Irish musicians Rodney Orpheus and Paul Dillon, the iconic electronic rock band THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX continues to captivate audiences with their pioneering sound. They played their first concert in what was then Czechoslovakia in 1990, i.e. just 4 months after the Velvet Revolution. The most recent one took place in 2012. A representative area of the Acropolis Palace was chosen for the important round anniversary.

The band’s journey began when Orpheus and Dillon, inspired by a meeting in a nightclub in Leeds, decided to form a group that combined the sound of drum machines, synthesizers and computer rhythms with distorted guitars – giving birth to the genre of industrial rock. THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX remain an influential force in electronic rock even after forty years, mixing elements of EBM, industrial, gothic rock, new wave and synthpop.

In 1985, their second single “Moscow Idaho” quickly climbed the indie charts around the world, saturated alternative radio stations and influenced a generation of bands. THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX cemented their influence with a trilogy of classic albums: ‘Grenade’, ‘Hello America’ and the fan favorite ‘Theomania’.

After the reunion, the band performed electrifying shows across Europe and South America. Their latest studio album THE CASSANDRA COMPLEX, 2022’s ‘The Plague’ achieved critical acclaim and topped the German Alternative Chart. In the current lineup of Andy Booth, Axel Ermes, Rodney Orpheus and Volker Zacharias, you can look forward to seeing this band again in Prague after more than 12 years.
