When should an offender be psychologically profiled? And what will he do?
As far as the psychological profile of the offender is concerned, I already said it at the committee, an expert opinion from the field of psychology is commissioned, which will be prepared in the foreseeable future. According to the previous conclusions, the report should be ready by the end of May, and it deals with profiling and the answer to the fundamental question of motivation.

You indicated that the motive should not be a mental disorder. Can you repeat or expand on this?
Yes, this is the preliminary conclusion of the expert who prepares the report and who said that she can already say this preliminary conclusion, and that the results of her examination clearly show that the perpetrator’s actions were not motivated by illness.

Can you still give any enumeration or amount of work that is the reason why there are still no results? What else lies ahead for criminalists and investigators?
I have been working as a public prosecutor for more than 20 years. I have been doing violent crime for 15 years. This means murder, intentional killing of another character, murder-suicide. Examining cases and properly examining such an act is really challenging.

Normally, by default, when we have one victim, one perpetrator, whether alive or one who kills himself, the investigation of one such case normally takes half a year or longer. It depends on the expert opinions, on the expertise, on the frequency of actions that need to be performed.

If you consider that here we have 14 dead, 14 injured, and we also have dozens more injured and injured, the volume of operations is many times higher. We really have a clear conscience in that we work with maximum commitment. The police atypically deployed a team consisting of two operative investigators to investigate the matter. A number of expert workplaces are working on it.

At the moment, the Criminalistics Institute has the processing of those traces more or less a priority. In particular, there are hundreds of ballistic traces that need to be examined. We really can’t stop the screening until we have the results of all the expertise.

Although it has been repeatedly said that politicians do not want to put pressure on us, we will not let them because it is our responsibility and it is a responsibility given by the criminal law. We cannot end the investigation until we have unequivocally confirmed that the act took place and that the perpetrator we are investigating committed it.

The deadline was June 21. Do you think you will keep it or will you rather ask for an extension?
This is the legal six-month period given by law for screening. Unfortunately, nowadays it is completely standard that the proceedings fail to end. Of course, we are trying, taking into account the interests of the victims, media pressure and all other circumstances, to end the investigation or screening.

At this moment, the procedural actions that we can influence and speed up are almost exhausted. Here, there are still interviews with several people who, for example, contacted us additionally saying that they had some information that they could share. But otherwise, the interrogations of the victims and other accused witnesses are finished. So it really depends on the expertise.
