The Moravian Theater Olomouc has established cooperation with the Olivy family center in Olomouc with the aim of enabling parents to visit the theater, while their children will be looked after by experienced lecturers during the performance, who will devise a fun and educational program for them in the premises of the Mozart Hall. The service will connect to selected weekend afternoon performances. Families will be able to use the service for the first time on Sunday, May 5 at the Hello, Dolly! at 2:30 p.m.

The advantage is that both the performance and the workshop will take place in the Moravian Theater building, and parents can bring their child 30 minutes before the start of the performance, then pick them up within 30 minutes after the end. The entrance is through the main entrance to the theater, from the foyer up the stairs directly to the Mozart Hall.

Parents therefore buy not only tickets to the theater, but also a ticket for the child to the workshop at a price of CZK 150. They will then present both to the lecturers when handing over the child. “We were the first to choose the musical Hello, Dolly!, which the opera and operetta ensemble will perform on Sunday, May 5 at 2:30 p.m. It will also be an afternoon weekend performance in the future,” said Tereza Matějková, head of the sales department, adding, that a ticket for the workshop can be bought at the theater box office or online at moravskedivadlo.cz.

“The workshop program is intended for children between the ages of 3 and 10 and is suitable for children who are out of diapers and can manage to be without their parents present for the duration of the performance. With the children, we will immerse ourselves in joint creation, games and conversations about theater and musicals We will try movement and dramatic games for self-awareness, mutual cooperation and concentration. There will be a magical sensory hideout and art activities for children,” said Jana Petřivalská Vaculová, director of the Oliva family center.
