Flowers, lectures and program. The Tower’s Spring Garden is just outside the door. What will it offer?

I am pleased to say that the interest from both visitors and exhibitors is constantly increasing. Attendance in 2023 was again higher than the previous year, by almost four thousand visitors. Which is a really nice number when we remember that the weather was not kind to us at the summer exhibition. The autumn exhibition made up for it both in terms of weather and attendance.

At the moment, the spring exhibition is already knocking on the door. How are the preparations going?
The Spring Garden of Towers is really already knocking on the door. We are currently recruiting part-timers and communicating with sellers, working on the exhibition, polishing the accompanying program, starting to advertise, and of course we are looking forward to May 1, when we will open the gates of the Tower Garden exhibition and see the fruits of our labor.

How does it look with the number of sellers this year?
I am pleased to say that the interest of sellers in our exhibition is not decreasing, on the contrary, new ones are coming forward who would like to try it with us. So we can expect more than a hundred different stands.

What does the Spring Tower Garden have to offer?
Our gardening exhibition will offer visitors a wide selection of products closely related to gardening and garden care. Among the offered assortment, we can find constants such as ingredients, flowers in boxes, fruit and ornamental trees and shrubs, bulbs or herbs, garden tools, hanging swings, raised beds, shelters, handicrafts made of wood or ceramics and much more. The beauty of the Tower Garden is that you can buy everything from azaleas to blinds.

Are you planning any news this year?
During this year, we would like to use the new premises that we have in the village. As our visitors could have noticed last year, extensive reconstruction of the building in the middle of the exhibition center was taking place. We would like to use this building, for example, for thematic lectures, which will be free for visitors as part of the entrance fee. With its opening, the layout of the stands in front of the building will change a bit, and we would also like to make the new sales aisle in the park accessible to visitors. This will create a longer walk and a more airy environment for both visitors and exhibitors. At the moment, however, I cannot say whether we will be able to carry out this plan for the summer or autumn exhibition.

What will be the theme of this year’s exposition in the granary?
Of course, the flower exhibition in the building of the old granary cannot be missed. This year’s theme is Palette of Flowers. We started the preparations already at the beginning of March, when the core components started to form. However, the work starts already at the beginning of the year, when the theme and main idea are devised, plans are created, how it will look, what material will be used. The closer the opening date gets, the more demanding the work becomes. Personally, I hope there will be something to watch this year, because we put a piece of ourselves into it.

What other accompanying program are you planning?
Of course, the exhibition is not the only attraction for visitors. Traditionally, a music program is prepared, where well-known names such as Motýl Band, DH Olšavanka, DH Věrovanka, DH Cyrilka or Holóbkova mozeka will perform. The schedule of when each group will perform is available on our website. For children there is a quiz, Tower games, fun games such as Big Man, don’t be angry!, tactile and olfactory trails or an accompanying program full of songs and dances.

Are you changing the entrance fee this year?
Entrance and parking fees remain the same as last year. An adult visitor pays 100 crowns, a ticket with a discount (seniors, children, members of the ČSZ, etc.) is 80 crowns, of course we also have family tickets and events for school trips. Holders of ZTP and ZTP/P cards can visit us for free. We also have the option of pre-ordering tickets for organized tours with a discount, which is widely used by the organizers.
