“These are exactly the games that push the boys on. Our motivation and goal for the boys was clear. It was a challenge. We told them that they have the opportunity to measure their qualities with players like Moulis, Mešanović, Douděra and Hora. I’m glad that they passed with flying colours,” said Sigma B coach Tomáš Janotka at the beginning.

Dukla had to do without head coach Petr Rada due to disciplinary punishment. On the contrary, Jan Navrátil, Jan Fortelný, Ebrima Signhateh and Dele Israel appeared in the Sigma B lineup. It was Jan Fortelný, who cannot play against Sparta in the top flight on Sunday due to the clubs’ agreement on hosting, who opened the scoring in the seventh minute. He won the ball, guided it and hit the post exactly.

In the 11th minute, it was even more cheerful in the visiting camp on Juliska. Muritala tapped Dele and he increased the lead. After half an hour it was Muritala who found the ball after Jan Fortelný’s corner and made it 3:0. Goalkeeper Koutný maintained the three-goal lead until the break with a fantastic save against Douděr.

Feast for Sigma. Before the full Andrák, Sparta can also turn around

The home team Dukla reacted to the unfavorable situation by making four changes, but the game was without chances for a long time after the change of sides. Dukla did not come under any great pressure, on the contrary, B Sigma could add a fourth goal in the 85th minute. Muritala fought his way to the end, but Šťovíček deprived him of his second goal in the match.

“I have to say he’s been doing great in the spring. For him, it’s a question of setting, hard work and approach to football. What he gives to it now comes back to him. In the fall, as part of the individual plan, he did not work as I would have imagined. I clearly outlined to him what my idea of how it should work was. He responded great to it. He has changed his head setup, is working excellently in training and is starting to make an indisputable contribution to the club. Today he clearly confirmed it,” Tomáš Janotka said of the Nigerian attacker.

“I evaluate the match as positive as possible. We won against the leader of the table and against a very good team like Dukla. I must say that the victory is fully deserved. In the first half, we showed an above-standard performance, which had high parameters in terms of offense and defense. After changing sides, we finished the match excellently. We didn’t let the opponent have any 100% chances during the whole match,” said the coach from Olomouc.

Béčko Sigma thus won the fifth time in a row and holds a seven-game unbeaten streak. He already has 42 points on his account after 25 rounds, which is the most that Sigma’s B team has ever scored in the second league.

“I am extremely proud of the boys. They rewrote the history of the B-team and no one can erase that from them. Stats are meant to be surpassed in some way. I think these guys deserve it for their determination, hard work and the way they stick together and work hard. Everything comes back to them on the field,” Janotka said about this fact.

In the next round, his team will welcome Táborsko on Sunday from 10:15 a.m., with whom they are currently fighting for the third place in the table. They are currently fourth in points, five points behind first Dukla.
