“Between the low pressure over western to northwestern Europe and the high pressure over eastern Europe, warm air from the south will continue to flow towards us. With regard to rising temperatures and moderate to fresh winds, the danger of fires will gradually increase,” said the ČHMÚ.
Meteorologists appealed to people not to light fires in nature, and especially in forests, where a moment is enough, a blown spark and misfortune can befall the world. People shouldn’t even burn grass or throw away cigarette butts. They should also not use portable stoves or other sources of open fire in nature.
The warning is valid from 9 a.m. Monday until Tuesday night for the South Moravian region, with the exception of the districts of Vyškov, Bučovice, Kyjov and Hodonín. Furthermore, the warning applies in Vysočina for the districts of Bystřice nad Pernštejnem, Moravské Budějovice, Náměšť nad Oslavou, Nové Město na Moravě, Telč, Třebíč, Velké Meziříčí and in the South Bohemian Region for the area around Dačice.

The wind warning could gradually spread to other areas of the Czech Republic and last until the end of the week.
“The area with a high risk of fires will expand due to rising temperatures and increasing winds. On Tuesday, April 30 and on Wednesday, May 1, we expect wind gusts of up to 20 m/s (70 km/h), especially in the area of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands,” the meteorologists said.
