Pilsen footballers finished the regular part of the FORTUNA:LIGA with a clear victory over Teplice 3:0. Tomáš Chorý scored two goals and Vydra scored for the first time since last December. The Victorians already have a certain third place and the 3rd preliminary round of the European League.

This is how Pilsen shooters celebrate. Tomáš Chorý, who scored twice, on the shoulders of Matěj Vydra, who for a change scored his first goal in the spring.

Before the match, a small celebration took place, two football players of home Viktoria received their jerseys from the hands of CEO Adolf Šádek and sports manager Daniel Kolář to commemorate their anniversaries. Striker Tomáš Chorý played his 200th league match against Karviná and captain Lukáš Hejda started against Fiorentina in the Conference League for his 350th match for Viktoria Plzeň

The match with Teplice itself did not offer much interest at first. In the first half, the only thing worth mentioning was the yellow card for Teplice captain Mareček in the 21st minute. Although the Victorians pushed harder in front of the visitors’ goal, it lacked a greater drive and a moment of surprise.

The start to the second half was a great success for them, captain Kalvach sent a cross on the right side to Šulka, who placed his cross directly on Choré’s head, and the Pilsen player makes no mistakes in such situations – 1:0.

Pilsen’s second goal was also scored after a similar action. Only with the difference that Šulec’s escape on the right side was finished off by substitute Vydra, much to the delight of the audience – 2:0. For a long time afterwards, the cauldron chanted his name, the striker with experience from the English league scored in the league for the first time since last December, when in Olomouc he made it 3:1 with a shot into an empty goal in the set time.

Another moment was appreciated by Pilsen fans in the 73rd minute, when Slovak speedster Jirka returned to the pitch after a long injury. He jumped for the first time since the February match in Ostrava. It was Baník that was already the only team that could dethrone Viktoria from the third place, but since they did not maintain a 2:0 lead against Liberec at home on Sunday and only drew 2:2, they are safe in Pilsen.

Chorý sealed Viktoria’s comfortable victory seven minutes before his second goal – 3:0. And when the Pilsen attacker was substituted a moment later, he was accompanied from the field by a massive applause from the stands of the Doosan Arena, where there were almost nine thousand spectators.
