The Pilsen City Police welcomed ten new police officers to its ranks. After a mandatory course of several weeks, they successfully passed the examination of professional competence before the commission of the Ministry of the Interior of the Czech Republic. On Tuesday, April 30, 2024, together with the leadership of the city police and councilor for security and crime prevention, Jiří Winkelhöfer came to congratulate and hand over service badges and certificates for the performance of their new profession.
“I congratulate the new police officers on successfully passing the exams. I am proud that you have become part of our team and soon you will go out into the streets to make Pilsen safer with us. Take pride in your work and remember that your service is a commitment to the public. I wish you much success and always a safe return to your loved ones,” he said Petr Novacekchief of the city police.
Councilor Jiří Winkelhöfer recalled that in the second half of last year, the Pilsen Municipal Police launched a large recruitment campaign, through which it promoted its work and also looked for new members. “We want to increase the number of members of the Plzeň Municipal Police, so that the patrols of the municipal police can be seen in the streets and the citizens of Pilsen feel safe. Maybe you signed up because the campaign appealed to you. The fact that you passed the demanding course shows that you are interested in this responsible and demanding service. I believe you will like it and find meaning in it,” he said during the elimination ceremony Jiří Winkelhöfer.
Currently, 238 police officers serve in the city police.
