The third year of Composers Summit Prague turned out more than decently – MonsterMusic

The unique event of symphonic music under the name Composers Summit Prague is already behind us and we can only admit that the third year of this majestic gathering of composers took place in a dignified spirit of intense experiences. Let’s look back at the main moments of this unconventional series of concerts, lectures and workshops!

The third year of the unique gathering of composers, musicians and other experts took place traditionally under the name Composers Summit Praguenamely between 18. and April 23rd 2024. Even the gloomy weather definitely did not diminish the impressiveness of the event: No one even thought about it, especially during the majestic opening concert in Municipal house. An impressive evening was called Spectacular Music of Hollywood and belonged not only Czech National Symphony Orchestra, whose top quality cannot even be doubted, but above all to world-renowned composers who personally conducted their most popular soundtrack works. He was not missing among them John Debney (Iron Man 2, The greatest showman) or a Grammy Award winner Nan Schwartz (Postman). There was also a handover ČSFD Awards from the founder of the server, namely into the hands of the composers Conrad Pope and Christopher Young for lifetime contribution to audiovisual.

However, that was far from all within the event – an equally impressive experience took place, for example, in Study of Český radio during the recording workshop or in the Hostivař at Showcase of talented composers. In addition, those interested had the unique opportunity to participate in a series of masterclasses, where the most skilled not only explained their working procedures, but also provided feedback on the works of more amateur creators.

“Composers Summit Prague is always an important meeting place for composers. Composers from the Czech Republic, Hollywood and many other places gathered here for less than a week to spend time together, establish friendships, debate and devise collaborations. This is one of the aspects of the summit that is appreciated not only by domestic, but also by Hollywood composers, who repeatedly return to the summit.” explained one of the organizers Alexander the Sad.

In short, in less than a week there was an unprecedented gathering of the most selected creators, players and various craftsmen and other experts of the music industry, and now we can only wait to see what the organizers will come up with next year.
