Get an overview of current events in the member states of the European Union or get an insight into the work of an MEP. This is offered by the new multifunctional center called Experience Europe, which is located in the heart of Prague on Národní třída.

The new center shows how the European Union works and also explains the relations between the institutions.

“The center is part of both the European Parliament and the European Commission, and it is one of the local elements of how to bring the European Parliament closer, but also the functioning of the European Union itself and how to involve citizens. The inspiration came from one center that was in Brussels, but we tried to explain locally and in this way convey what the European Parliament and what the European Union does and how it works,” said Stephen Clark, director of the European Parliament’s EU offices.

On the ground floor of the visitor center, visitors can check, for example, what is happening in the countries of the European Union at several multimedia stations. The virtual glasses on the second floor will then transfer the interested party to the MP’s office, where they will prepare their speech.

“They can touch it, how it works, there is a simulation game, they can also try out a meeting of the European Parliament, how it is necessary to come to an agreement, there is information about who represents us in Europe, it is so interactive that one he inspired what European institutions and European topics mean,” said Monika Ladmanová, head of the Representation of the European Commission in the Czech Republic.

“I think that there is a lot of information presented here in a form that is interactive, so it draws you into the game, and I think that is the best way to convey that information in a pleasant way, because said Martin Dvořák (STAN), Minister for European affairs of the Czech Republic.

There is also a cinema on the first floor of the building, which shows a fourteen-minute film about the European Parliament and life in Europe. From the end of April, a film will also be shown here on the occasion of the elections to the European Parliament, which take place from June 6 to 9.
