The practice will require traffic restrictions valid from 5 p.m. on Saturday in the area of K Přehradám, U Národní galerie and U Malá řeky on the left bank of the Vltava in Zbraslav.
The street to Přehradá will be closed on both sides in the section from the roundabout at the exit from the Prague Ring Road to the Závodu Míru bridge, where only components of the integrated rescue system will be allowed to pass, as well as the street U Národní galerie from the same roundabout to Zbraslavské náměstí. Only public transport and components of the integrated rescue system will be allowed to pass here.
Detour routes for individual traffic have been set up due to traffic measures. From the center, they take Strakonická street, the exit to Lipence and then the Bartoňova road to Zbraslavské náměstí or Strakonická street and the exit to Zbraslav over the bridge to K Výtopně street.
In the direction of the center, detour routes lead through K Přehradám Street and a turn at Most Závodu Míru to Žitavského Street, or along Strakonická Street and the exit at Baně, or also along Strakonická Street, the exit at Lipence and then along Bartoňova Street to Zbraslavské náměstí.
“The situation of previous years has taught us that we cannot underestimate our preparedness for crisis situations. In this spirit, we also perceive the importance of these regular exercises,” said Prague Mayor Bohuslav Svoboda (ODS).
A total of 95 people will be involved in the exercise construction of flood protection in Zbraslav, of which 70 will be members of volunteer fire brigade units and 25 members of the Army of the Czech Republic and Active Reserves of the Army of the Czech Republic.
The start of the units will be in the early evening at the training facilities in U Malá řeky Street. All sections of the construction of the mobile embankment will then be built at once in order to speed up the exercise with regard to the time it takes place in a populated area.
At the same time, an exercise will take place in the Operations Center of the Crisis Staff, Hl. City of Prague, Operational Center of the Service Administration Prague and in the operational centers of the IZS components.
As part of the Zbraslav Sever 2024 exercise, the firefighters and the army will build a mobile fence with a total length of 198 meters, its height will be between 0.3 and 3.96 meters. Of the mobile elements of flood protection, 860 pieces of barriers, 57 pieces of shells, 38 pieces of supports, 136 pieces of tie rods and 250 anti-flood sandbags will be used. In total, there are 1,341 pieces of necessary material.
Between 1997 and 2013, the capital city built a flood protection system on its territory, which consists of fixed parts (reinforced concrete flood walls, earth embankments or railway network bodies), mobile elements (mobile aluminum flood walls, heavy flood beams), flood dams built from sandbags and from the anti-flood system on the sewage network (check valves, sluice chambers, pumping stations with mobile pumps, pumping stations with stationary pumps).
Exercise in the construction of mobile elements of flood protection in Hl. m. of Prague have been held since 2005. The Zbraslav, Radotín, Velká and Malá Chuchle stage is the only stage that has not yet been practiced in its entirety.
In 2022, the autumn exercise for the construction of part of this stage first took place in Radotín. In the spring of 2023, the Chuchle 2023 exercise was held in Malá and Velká Chuchla, and last autumn the Zbraslav South 2023 exercise took place. Now it is the turn of the Zbraslav Sever 2024 exercise, which will completely rehearse the entire stage 0006.
